Colchester County High School for Girls is a state school for academically able students aged from 11 to 18 years and consistently achieves outstanding public examination results. In January 2009 Ofsted awarded us an "outstanding" status.

We are a vibrant and happy community providing an exciting variety of opportunities for girls to develop their talents, to enjoy themselves and to flourish as individuals. Our students are exceptionally bright and enthusiastic. They thrive in our relaxed, supportive atmosphere, and take personal responsibility for their own learning.

Our staff work with great skill and dedication to provide enjoyable and challenging experiences that stretch our girls' learning to its limits. Whilst our academic results are stunning, we also look for broader measures of success: our students' personal development, their satisfaction and their confidence for the future.

As a school our aim is to provide a first class education for our students. Our achievement of this has been recognised by the awarding of two specialisms and lead partner status for two other partnerships. These awards not only bring extra finances for our own student's education, but extends the expertise we have to the wider community of schools in Colchester; primary, secondary and special needs.
